Measure J Traffic Congestion Relief Agency

What is TRAFFIX?

TRAFFIX is a traffic congestion relief program funded by Measure J, a 1/2 cent sales tax measure extended for 25 years by the voters of Contra Costa County in 2004. It is a program specifically designed to reduce traffic congestion by operating school buses in the community's most congested roadways and intersections.

TRAFFIX began school bus service in August 2009 and continues today with a brand new fleet of clean-burning buses with state-of-the-art safety features. To determine where the program will reduce traffic most effectively, TRAFFIX conducted comprehensive traffic studies throughout the Valley and surveyed parents at all San Ramon Valley schools. TRAFFIX currently operates a fleet of 24 school buses which serve students at California HS, Monte Vista HS, San Ramon Valley HS, Los Cerros MS, Pine Valley MS, Country Club ES, Coyote Creek ES, Green Valley ES, Neil Armstrong ES, Vista Grande ES, and Walt Disney ES.

TRAFFIX is operated jointly by the City of San Ramon, Town of Danville, Contra Costa County, and the San Ramon Valley Unified School District, with funding from the Contra Costa Transportation Authority (Measure J), the Contra Costa County Service Area Transit District One (CSA-T1), the Bay Area Air Quality Management District and parent contributions.

TRAFFIX bus passes for the following school year each Spring!

You can log on to the TRAFFIX website at www.ridetraffix.com to register and secure a seat for your child. It’s safe, convenient, and fun, and a great way to reduce traffic congestion in your community.
