Disposing of medications down the toilet, drain or in the garbage (residential or commercial) is harmful to the environment. You can dispose of your unwanted or expired prescription and non-prescription medications in the Pharmaceutical Disposal Kiosk located in the lobby of the San Ramon Police Department. We accept pills, as well as liquids, creams and gels in the original container. Please, be sure the lids are on tight and they are sealed in a plastic bag.
You can also safely dispose needles and other medical sharps in the SHARPSBOX located in the lobby, next to the pharmaceutical kiosk. All sharps must be in a container. If an FDA-cleared container is not available, place used sharps in a strong, sealed, plastic container, like a laundry detergent or bleach bottle. The container should be leak resistant and remain upright during use with a tight fitting, puncture-resistant lid.
