During a real critical incident or natural disaster emergency; public safety information, the impact and extent of the emergency, the response actions taken by the City, and important post emergency information will be available on the City home page and the San Ramon Police Department's Home Page.

Functions as a FREE Public Alert System that allows for instant notification in emergency situations. Subscribers will receive real-time Crime Bulletins and Emergency Alerts both via email and wirelessly. In order to receive these time-sensitive emergency notifications, you MUST subscribe to the service by clicking here.
Nixle Alerts (text messages)

Cell Phone Text Message Alerts - The San Ramon Police Department utilizes an emergency text message alert system through Nixle. To register for these messages simply text your San Ramon Zip Code (94582 or 94583) to 888-777 and you will be automatically enrolled. You can also register by visiting the Nixle website at www.nixle.com.

 

Twitter and other Social Media (apps)

In the event of a critical incident or natural disaster, the San Ramon Police Department will post critical public safety information on our social media feeds. Our primary social media platform during a critical incident will be Twitter (www.twitter.com/sanramonpolice).

However, our other social media platforms (Facebook, NextDoor, and Instagram) will be updated as time allows.

 

Other Alerts

  • Radio Alerts - 1610 AM - Station 1610 AM is dedicated to the City of San Ramon Emergency Preparedness and Response program to be used locally for broadcast of real-time emergency information. The Federal Communications Commission manages the Highway Advisory Radio System (HARS) program which allows local jurisdictions to apply for and operate a license on the AM band. The station exists to provide residents and motorists with timely and accurate information about incidents and emergency operations. Changeable message signs may be used to direct motorists to 1610 AM for conditions ahead or other event information. The portable solar/battery-powered signs are trailer-mounted and can be quickly transported as conditions warrant. Please let your friends and families know of these systems.
