Applications are now open for the Fall 2024 session of the Citizen Planning Academy, hosted by San Ramon's Community Development Department. Learn about the City’s planning process, why cities plan, how planning shapes our community, and the land use planning process. The classes are anticipated to be held on 5 consecutive Mondays from 6:30 - 9 p.m. beginning September 9 at City Hall. Apply by August 2, 2024.

At the City Council Meeting on June 25, the San Ramon City Council adopted a balanced budget for the 2024/25 Fiscal Year (July 1, 2024 – June 30, 2025). This budget closes a $17.6 million shortfall in revenue through several strategies, including $8.1 million in budget cuts across all departments, un-funding vacant staff positions, and increasing user fees for City services.

On December 12, 2023, the City Council adopted two Resolutions and three Ordinances certifying the Environmental Impact Report and adopting the San Ramon General Plan 2040 Project.

Bishop Ranch Chevron Park

Sunset Development has purchased Chevron’s 92-acre, 1.3-million-square-foot “Chevron Park” campus in Bishop Ranch. On March 7, 2023, the Planning Commission held the second Public Workshop to gather input on the property.

Marketplace Mixed Use Development Project

At a public hearing on March 14, 2023, the City Council adopted a Resolution to deny the CAMPAD appeal; uphold the Applicant appeal; and approved the Project applications with modified Conditions of Approval.
