Upcoming Closure of Bollinger Canyon Road: October 1–7

Bollinger Canyon Road will be completely closed between Camino Ramon and Market Place from Tuesday, October 1 through Monday, October 7. Detours will be in place to direct traffic around the construction zone.

City Hall and the Marketplace Shopping Center will be open with access from westbound Bollinger Canyon Road.

This roadway closure is required to conduct a critical phase of construction on the Iron Horse Trail Bicycle and Pedestrian Overcrossing, where the precast concrete deck panels will be set in the Overcrossing framework.

Once this work is complete, the public will see the full Overcrossing structure. However, the Overcrossing will not be fully completed and open until Summer 2025.

For more detail, please see the detour map below.

During the road closure, construction activities will be taking place that require special safety measures, since workers will be using large cranes to lift portions of the Overcrossing in place. It will not be safe for vehicles to drive under the over-roadway work.

Pedestrians and bicycles can continue to use the existing sidewalk detour route on the south side of Bollinger Canyon Road. Pedestrian scaffolding will be constructed for protection.
